Have I been sexually assaulted?

Many people are unsure about whether something that happened to them was sexual assault.

The important question is whether you agreed freely and voluntarily to participate in all of the sexual activity that happened. It also matters whether you were fully able to give or withdraw your consent at the time.

Sexual assault is a crime for which the offender is solely responsible. It's still sexual assault if you are married to or in a relationship with the person.
