  • We do advocacy work to inform law and policy reform;
  • We carry out research projects into best practice;
  • We are co-convenor of the NSW Women's Alliance.

Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia engages in advocacy work to ensure that our clients’ experiences of sexual, family and domestic violence inform the development of law and policy.

Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia is also the co-convenor of the NSW Women’s Alliance. The Women’s Alliance brings together numerous NSW women’s peak organisations and state-wide service providers with expertise in responding to and working to prevent violence against women.

Public submissions

As a non-government organisation, it is our responsibility to ensure that people who have been made vulnerable by their circumstances have their voices heard in democratic processes. Otherwise, there is a risk that government, law and policy will serve only the needs and interests of the powerful few.

To fulfil this responsibility, Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia engages in a wide range of law reform activities including writing submissions to inquiries, sitting on stakeholder advisory groups, and advocating for our clients’ interests to government.
