NSW Rape Crisis
NSW Rape Crisis is a 24/7 telephone counselling service for anyone in NSW who has experienced or been impacted by sexual assault.
Rape Crisis Online
Sometimes making the first contact can be difficult. Rape Crisis Online services offer an alternative way to access initial information and support. The online service is a one to one, in real time ‘chat’ with a trained counsellor. The service is accessed via the http://www.nswrapecrisis.com.au/ website for those who have experienced or been impacted by sexual assault in NSW.
For support relating to sexual assault in other states and territories, and family and domestic violence anywhere in Australia, online counselling is available 24/7 via the 1800RESPECT website.
Sexual Assault Counselling Australia
Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia also provides counselling support to anyone who is involved in or considering participating in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, via Sexual Assault Counselling Australia. Sexual Assault Counselling Australia also provides support for anyone who decides to process their trauma as a result of the Royal Commission, and anyone who is supporting someone who is participating in the Royal Commission.
Community Based Counselling Service
Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia trauma counsellors are available in Women’s Health Centres throughout NSW. They provide medium to long term trauma counselling for women who experienced childhood sexual assault. Appointments can be made by contacting the respective Women's Health Centre. This service is free of charge.
Online Therapeutic Support Group
Young people who experience sexual assault often experience considerable barriers in accessing counselling and support in their recovery. The Online Therapeutic Support Group offers an online group with others who have had similar experiences and is facilitated by experienced trauma counsellors.
The group is for young females aged 14-17, and generally lasts for 10 weeks. To find out when the next group is commencing, or for more information, please contact our team
